The Oltrarno is the entire area on the far side of the Arno river, the last of the quarters of the city to be enclosed within the medieval walls, most of which still stand today. A quarter rich in history but that has managed to retain to the present day its authenticity, a quarter which needs to be discovered without haste to appreciate all of its charm.
