PAINTING - This tour begins at the curch of S. Maria Novella where there are three seminal moments in Ranaissance painting:
a Trinity by Masaccio, the frescoes by Ghirlandaio on which Michelangelo may have collaborated during his apprenticeship.
The tour then continues with the church of S. Trinita contrasting the late gothic chapel of Lorenzo Monaco with Ghirlandaio and ends with the Masaccio
frescoes at the Brancacci Chapel "school of the Renaissance".
SCULPTURE - This tour begins in the Bargello museum contrasting early 15th and 16th century Renaissance sculpture including pieces from various moments in Michelangelo career, and the lead-up to his David with Donatello's and Verrocchio's Davids. We then continue on-to the Cathedral museum with Donatello's Mary Magdalene and prophets; the originals of Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise and Michelangelo's Bandini Pietà.
ARCHITECTURE - This tour begins with Brunelleschi's Dome and continues onto his church of S. Lorenzo and for comparison ends with Michelangelo's Laurentian Library.
